Volunteering

The Bemus Point Fire Department is always looking for anyone interested in joining the department. We get involved in many community activities. There's more to being in the Fire Department than just putting out fires. Whether you're interested in being an emergency medical technician (emt) or a fire police, or you want to get involved in the business operations of the department, we can use your help! You don't have to drive a fire engine or go into burning buildings to be a member of the fire department. Stop by the fire station on any Tuesday night and see what we're all about. We would be happy to answer all your questions and/or give you a tour.

Requirements for joining the Bemus Point Fire Department:

* Must be eighteen years of age to be a full member.

You can be a member if under eighteen but certain restrictions apply.

* Must have a valid NYS driver's license to drive any equipment.

* And last but not least, you CANNOT have a conviction for an arson related offense-ever.

"The modern volunteer fire service is the last remaining vestige of the American Spirit from Our Country's beginning. From the days of Benjamin Franklin's buckets to huge powerful fire engines, yet the people are the same. More than ever, your Community and Country need each and every one of you." Jon Stahley
